You can stop receiving facebook email notifications in your inbox by following the instructions below.

A few years ago, every time I check my emails, I felt so annoyed seeing those unsolicited mails sitting in my inbox from spammers. The time when I signed up an account with facebook, I never thought that I will be 1 million times more annoyed by those email notifications sent to my inbox from facebook. My inbox was flooded with messages like this :

madonna commented on a photo of you:

michael tagged a photo of you in jackson's album "Profile Pictures".

adam commented on lambert's photo and so on and so forth.

I got to a point where I didn’t even want to check my emails anymore because I was fed up seeing those Facebook, Facebook, Facebook, Facebook, Faebook, everyday. It’s giving me a hard time as well in locating some important emails. It took me sometime before I figured out how to deal with these notifications. It was like a huge relief the moment I finally figured out how to get rid of them.

Here are the steps on how to stop receiving email notifications from facebook.

  • Log on to your  facebook account
  • On the upper right corner of your homepage click on “Account”
  • On the drop down menu, click on “Account Settings”.
  • On the sub menu click on “Notification”
  • Under “Notification” you will seethe following :

Facebook notifies you whenever actions are taken on Facebook that involve you

Each Facebook application has its own notification settings. Click the checkbox to change the settings for that application.

  • The list of Notifications will be enumerated on the left side of the page and the check boxes are seen on the right side.
  • Read each notification carefully and decid which one you don’t want to be sent to your inbox.
  • Uncheck the boxes  that correspond to your unwanted notifications.
  • Continue reading towards the bottom of the page. Make sure you read all the notification categories.
  • After you’ve done that click “Save Changes”.

What a pain in the neck to have to go through all that just to stop getting all those unwanted facebook postings. You shouldn't send them to people's emails without permission anyway!

Just send it to your spam folder, that's what I do with unwanted emails, even though its a head ache to erase spam as well.
