HOW TO GET FREE TICKETS FOR THE OSCARS & ACADEMY AWARDS RED CARPET BLEACHER SEATS

Have you ever wondered how those fans got a spot in the Academy Awards Red Carpet Bleacher Seats? If you ever dreamed of watching the Hollywood Stars walk down the Red Carpet in a closer look, your chances are within your grasp.
Sometime in September of 2009, I heard in the Channel 4 news Los Angeles that the online lottery for 2010 82nd Oscars & The Academy Awards Bleacher Seats free tickets submission was officially started on that very same day. The viewers were asked to go online and log on to their official website which is www.oscars.org/bleachers.
Upon hearing that, since I was sitting close to my computer, I immediately grabbed my keyboard and typed in the website’s URL. There you go, the submission form popped up with instructions on how to go over with it.
Alongside with my
entry, I had the option to take 3 more people with me. There’s a section
in the form where to write 3 Full Names and their email addresses.
So, if my name is randomly selected, it means to say that those 3 people will be joining me in the Red Carpet event.
Ok, here’s what you have to do :
- Starting August or September, you have to start checking on the oscars’ website to get announcements for the Bleacher Seat online lottery. It’s recommended to track down the start date so you can send in your submission on the very first day of the lottery. It could probably increase your chances of winning. Who knows right? There’s nothing to lose. Why wait for the 2nd day when you can do it on the 1st day. In my case, I submitted my entry on the day the submission started. Usually, the submission date is mid-September and it covers a full week.
- A notification will be sent out to your e-mail on the 1st week of October. So, be sure not to miss that email. If it doesn’t show up in your inbox then check your spam, it could be sitting there waiting for you.
- If you will be selected, the next process will be signing the agreement and a background check. You will be asked to fill up a form for security purposes. Be sure to read and understand the agreement, sign it and fill up the background check questionnaire in its entirety. Attach a current photo. Since it is a background check, you have to reveal your Social Security Number. Oppss! Don’t get alarmed. Academy Awards is a very trusted organization and your sensitive information is safe in their hands. Of course, they have to make sure that each and every person joining that big event is secured and is not a threat to each other’s lives as well. Their next ultimate goal is safety for everybody. You will be asked to mail the form to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ address in Beverly Hills California. The complete address is provided in their email.
- You will receive a confirmation email whether you passed the background check or not sometime in November. If you do pass the background check, an invitation will be mailed to your address via post office mail. They will also send you an email of the Bleacher Seat information Packet which contains important instructions on what to do, where to go, what & what not to bring, what to wear, parking instructions, arrival time and etc. You will also be asked to RSVP via online. Do it as soon as possible. If you don’t receive the invitation by February, call their office and tell the operator that you are a bleacher fan and you will be transferred to the authorized personnel to handle your query. Let them know that you didn’t receive the invitation in the mail and rest assured the person in-charged will take care of that as soon as possible.

You don't need to be a U.S. resident to join the Oscars, Academy Awards Red Carpet Bleacher Seat lottery. As long as you have the proper documentation of your stay in the U.S., whether you are on a tourist visa or whatever type of legal documentation you hold, you are very much welcome to join. If your name will be randomly selected, they will send you some documents to fill out including a background check form. If you pass the background check then they will be sending you important instructions and they will also ask you to confirm your attendance.

Hi! Anybody of you have visited Kodak Theatre? I'm planning to visit LA during next Oscars, in february, and I want to know If the Theatre will be open for visitors, at least the day before the Oscars or when.

Yes the Kodak Theatre is open. Hollywood Blvd is closed off to traffic and certain spots are closed off to the public. You can still walk around and take pictures.
If you missed the lottery can you go down at the time of the red carpet will you be able to see anything

I would love to purchase 2 tickets for the Academy Awards Show this Feb 26, 2012. It has always been my dream to attend the show and perhaps a party or so. Please help me to get at least 2 tickets. I will be coming there from Ohio and I want this experience to remember forever. I will be in LA for a week after the Oscars too

Hi Paulina! If you want to get tickets for the bleacher seat, you have to join the online lottery which usually happens between August & September of each year. The tickets can be obtained for free if you will be randomly drawn from the lottery. They are not for sale.

Hi Karen & Christine! All the bleacher seat tickets can only be obtained if you join the lottery and get randomly selected to win a bleacher seat ticket. There's no way to buy the tickets because they are not for sale. They are obtained free only if....you join the lottery and will be lucky enough to get selected.
Hi Joyce! Thanks for your message. So sorry for the very late reply. So nice to hear that you are a script writer. Unfortunately, the bleacher seat tickets are not for sale and non-transferable. The only way you can get the free bleacher seat ticket is to join the lottery. If your name is randomly selected, you will then wait for a background check form to fill-out. Getting a ticket to the red carpet bleacher seat is a long process. I suggest, you join the lottery that will be happening between august and september of this year and you submit your entry on the very first day the lottery starts. This ticket is only for the red carpet event and not inside the theater. If you want to be inside the theater to grace the awards ceremony, you should get a seat filler pass. This involves a longer process though.
It depends. If the weather forecast is bad, they will build a tent within the red carpet so, there's nothing to see except the bunch of people on the streets but if it won't rain, there's a chance to see some celebs if you will be in the front row of the ropes. People are already there a day before the event. Just make sure to go there as early as you can and skid through the crowd until you make your way to where the ropes or fences are.
Hey, Thanks for the info!! I have always wanted to go to the Academy Awards. My parents both worked for Warner Bros studio before WWll. The Academy awards were always a big deal in our home. We moved to Washington State but it continued to be a big deal. Now I am much older and still watching and wishig I could go one year. I have a nephew that lives up the street and has to use a badge to get into his apartment complex. Thanks again for the info!!
